You can use the empty slot in the hot bar for an active skill! (click to enlarge)įrom here on the order of maximizing your skills is basically up to you: Getting Dance of Death up to max level will give you a great damage boost, especially while fighting elite groups or boss mobs. Instead use your skill points to max out Flying Picks as soon as possible, since the two summoned Ancient Spirits will not only give you some extra damage while running around, but also can pull aggro away from you, giving you some room to breath while fighting harder enemies. Getting Hammer Spin onto Tier 1 early on is great just to increase your running speed by a decent amount, but if you’re struggling (especially while playing on higher difficulties) don’t do that for now. You also want to invest an early point into Blasting Charge as well as all the other skills mentioned in the picture below – so basically use one point as soon as you can, but don’t bother investing more until later on.
Even without the Respectacles doing so is recommended to rush through the earlier levels until you finally can start skilling Blood Seekers.

If you already have some Respectacles lying around from previous characters, feel free to invest your first few skill points either into Spinning Blade or Pound and refund them later on. The main reason why this build is so strong even during the earlier stages of the game is the strong damage and healing of the Blood Drinker relic, especially the Blood Seekers ability, which is the first skill you want to max out.
